Family Garden Transformation in New Eltham with Artificial Grass

For our June Project of the Month, we are featuring a recent garden transformation in New Eltham, London SE9, where the aim was to create a much more practical and enjoyable outdoor space for the family’s children to play on.

Before we started, the garden was split into three separate areas. There had previously been two decked sections, which had been removed before our arrival, along with a small grass area that was completely out of proportion with the rest of the garden. The layout made the space feel broken up and limited how well the garden could be used.
After assessing the area, we suggested a much better solution — merging all three sections together to form one large artificial lawn.

Turning Three Unconnected Areas into One Usable Space

When a garden is divided into multiple sections, it can often feel smaller, less practical and harder to enjoy. In this case, combining the three separate areas into one made far more sense for the customer and completely changed how the garden could be used.

To achieve this, we slightly raised the front section of the garden to help with the overall levels and create one continuous space. This allowed us to form a larger, more balanced lawn area that is now far better suited to family life and everyday use.

The result is a garden that feels much more open, more in proportion and far more useful for children to play on safely and comfortably.

Built with Future Plans in Mind

An important part of this project was making sure the new lawn worked not only for now, but also with the customer’s future plans for the property.

We installed 4×4 timbers along the front edge, which gave the garden a neat, defined finish and also allowed the customer to clearly separate the new artificial grass area from the existing paving. This was especially important because the paving area is due to be updated in the coming months, once the building work on the house has been completed.

By setting the garden out this way, the customer now has a smart and practical lawn in place, while still keeping flexibility for the next stage of improvements.

The Grass Chosen: The Spring 35 Recyclable

For this installation in New Eltham, we fitted The Spring 35 Recyclable Artificial Grass. This grass was a great choice for a family garden because it provides a natural-looking finish while also being practical, durable and suitable for regular use. It helps create a clean, fresh appearance and gives the customer a lawn that can be enjoyed throughout the year without the mess and maintenance of natural grass.

As with all of our recyclable artificial grass products, it also offers an environmentally better option for customers looking for a more sustainable choice.

The Finished Result

This project is a great example of how the right layout can make just as much difference as the product itself.
By merging three awkward sections into one large lawn, we were able to create a garden that is more attractive, more balanced and much more usable for the whole family. The finished artificial grass area now provides a safe, low-maintenance and child-friendly space that works far better for everyday life.
The Spring 35 recyclable grass has given the garden a smart, professional finish, while the timber edging has helped create structure and prepare the space for future paving improvements.
