Uneven Bexleyheath Garden Transformed with Spring 38 Recyclable Artificial Grass

For our July Install of the Month, we are featuring a challenging garden transformation in Bexleyheath, London where the existing lawn was in very poor condition and the levels across the garden needed significant correction before any artificial grass could be installed.

The original back lawn had very little to offer. It was uneven, dusty and full of holes, with large areas of dead grass that made the whole space feel tired and uninviting.

The real challenge, however, was not just replacing the lawn. It was creating a much more level and usable garden from a site with significant differences in height.

A Garden That Needed More Than a New Lawn

Artificial grass is only as good as the groundwork underneath it, and this Bexleyheath project is a great example of why proper preparation matters.

Before installation could begin, we had to address the uneven levels throughout the garden.

We removed around 2 tonnes of material from the higher areas and then used carefully planned groundworks to raise both the front and rear sections. By redistributing the levels properly and bringing in the necessary base materials, we were able to dramatically improve the overall shape of the garden.

In total, approximately 32 tonnes of material went into completing the groundworks.

The result was a garden that went from noticeably uneven to almost completely level.

Clever Groundworks Made the Difference

This was not a straightforward artificial grass installation.

The amount of groundwork required meant careful consideration had to be given to the finished levels across the entire lawn. Simply covering the existing surface would never have produced a satisfactory result.

By removing material where the garden was too high and building up the lower sections, we were able to create a much more balanced surface while maintaining the correct structure underneath the lawn.

This kind of preparation is one of the most important parts of a professional artificial grass installation. Getting the levels, drainage and base right at the beginning helps ensure the finished lawn remains stable and performs properly for many years.

Spring 38 Recyclable Artificial Grass

Once the groundwork was complete, we installed Spring 38 Recyclable Artificial Grass.

The Spring 38 was an ideal choice for this garden, giving the customer a soft, natural-looking lawn with a smart finish that completely changed the appearance of the outdoor space.

It also provides the convenience of a low-maintenance lawn without the problems the customer previously experienced with dead grass, dust, holes and uneven ground.

As a recyclable artificial grass product, Spring 38 also provides customers with a more sustainable option when choosing a new artificial lawn.

From Uninviting to a Garden to Enjoy

The difference between the before and after is substantial.

What was previously an uneven and dusty back garden with poor grass coverage is now a large, attractive and almost completely level lawn.

The extensive groundwork has made the garden far more usable, while the Spring 38 artificial grass provides a clean, consistent finish throughout the year.

This Bexleyheath installation demonstrates why some artificial grass projects are about much more than simply fitting a new lawn. In this case, the transformation started underneath the surface, with more than 30 tonnes of groundwork materials and careful level correction needed to create the finished garden.
