The Brief:
The owners of this property in West Wickham, London wanted a garden lawn that would withstand kids playing football on it. At the moment as soon as it rained the lawn became a muddy mess.
A great option to solve this problem is fitting artificial grass.
Our Work:
To begin this project the greenhouse was removed. This created more space and was a sensible option as football and greenhouses tend to not be a good combination!
It was then down to creating the groundworks. 8 tonnes of top soil were taken away along with some old fashioned stone edging. We concreted in 3×2 timbers to hold the base in place and keep the shape of the grass.
8 tonnes of Type 1 and 5 tonnes of Granno were compacted in and the base was ready for the Rectory to be laid.
A young footballers dream and no mud or greenhouse nightmares for the parents to contend with!
