The Brief:
This back garden in Welling, London needed some work to turn it into the family friendly place the owners wanted. They wanted a 21st Century garden where the kids could play safely and the adults could sit out and relax with friends. The real grass lawn had been ruined by the kids playing on it and by workmen who had recently renovated the back of the house.
Our Work:
The recent renovation had seen large bi fold doors leading to a deck outside. There was a drop of 4 inches from this deck to the existing garden lawn. This drop proved perfect for us to install our groundworks on. The groundworks consisted of fixing timbers around the perimeter, a membrane layer, 8 tonnes of Type 1 and 4 tonnes of compacted in granite dust as a top layer. The grass fitted is the Spring.
We think the end result was a great family friendly garden. Better than any garden with a worn out lawn and a trampoline stuck in the middle!
