Artificial grass in Rainham for a pre School

The Brief:

This pre school nursery in Rainham RM13, Essex had an outside area it wanted to make more use of. It was currently a space that was muddy for most of the year and when the kids did get to play outside the area was uninviting.

We were asked to change this and give the children a fun surface to play on whatever the weather.

Our Work:

We added 3 inches of Type 1 for the sub base. This provided a solid foundation for the grass and would prevent it from sinking in the future. Timber fixings were hammered in around the perimeter before being secured in place with concrete. These fixings gave us somewhere for the grass to be attached to and prevent it from moving or going bumpy. 

We fitted the Outfield artificial grass before adding Kiln dried sand to make the play area as hard wearing as possible. The nursery in Rainham now had a durable artificial grass play surface that could be used all year round.
